L'Oreal Brow Artist

Having to apply make up to your brows was something that came to me very late on in the make up game, it wasn't until last year that i knew this was something that people actually did and at first i didn't see the importance of it. Do you really ever notice anyone's eyebrows? Usually no but it is definitely noticeable when your brows aren't present so how does it help? A more drawn in and prominent brow draws more attention to your eyes and gives more definition to the face.

I wasn't looking for a new brow product but whilst looking at the L'Oreal stand in Boots i was intrigued but their new Brow Artist Genius Kit. I have used many brow products but i am always willing to try a new one and find the right shade for me. Back in the day the first brow product i ever bought was the Sleek Brow Kit but in the shade Dark. I have ginger hair but quite dark eyebrows so i tend to go for the darker shades but this time i went for the lighter one to see how it goes. As you know if you are a frequent reader i have been using the Soap and Glory Archery Brow Pencil, i do love it but i prefer the precision and more natural look that a powder gives.

The L'Oreal kit is a lot lighter than the sleek one that i have but that is becuase i did go for the different shade option. The powder in the kit is a finely milled powder which fills in the brows. The powder has a lightly red tint to it which is good for me as i have a slightly red tint to my brows but if you like a more ash tone to the brow products then this isn't for you. Another problem with this product is the wax it comes with. The wax is very hard and you can barely pick up any of the product on a brush. I started by using the brush it came with but it wasn't good enough and then i bought one which admittedly wasn't the best but it still doesn't work, you really have to work to get any of the wax on the brush. Admittedly you don't need much as you only need enough to holds on to the powder but i was not happy with the wax.

The kit is slightly better than the Sleek one because it does have a spoolie in it, which is a key feature for anyone who needs their brows tamed slightly. The L'Oreal kit was £9.99 which is only slightly more expensive than the Sleek one but i would go for the L'Oreal one if you are new to brows, you can't really go wrong with it. You can only ever pick up a little bit of wax which means that if like me you don't need a massive amount, you can't go overboard with your brows. I have been using it over my Soap and Glory Archery pencil for going to work but if i go out anytime soon i think i would go back to it to give me a darker, more defined brow.
