Here's to folks who would love to give the matte lip trend a rest. I am reviewing the Avon Shine Burst gloss sticks today, and showing you hand and lip swatches as well.

The Avon Shine Burst lipsticks come in a metallic plastic tube that is quite pleasing to the eye. The outer packaging is colour-coordinated in shade groups, so the nudes will have rose gold packaging, the pink ones pink packaging, reddish and coral shades will come in red packaging and the purples and plums in purple. They are very slim, therefore easy to apply even without a mirror. Each holds 1.8 grams of product and the price is around $3-5, depending if they are on sale or not. I bought mine for around $4.
In the official description, Avon says they are glossy, creamy, hydrating and smell like fruit while having pigmentation to effortlessly cover the lips. I agree with these claims, I am writing this review after 3 years of use after all. There is some use of being late as hell with stuff, it seems.

The formula is incredibly creamy, comfortable and moisturizing. According to Avon, they contain papaya, pomegranate and coconut oil. They have medium-buildable pigmentation and two finishes: creamy and shimmery. Their color range contains 15 shades, most of them being pinks. Even if one is in the red category package-wise, it's still pink.

Let's move onto the shades I own:
I actually have 6 of them, even though you only see 5 in this post. I bought the shade Grapefruit after I photographed my first 5 shades. I received 2 of these as PR-samples, and bought 3 of them (+1 later) myself. That is kind of telling how I love them.

Peach Punch - cream finish, light peach, hella pigmented for being pastel.
Iced Mocha - Avon Shine Burst lipstick |
Iced Mocha - cream finish, medium brown-taupe mix with terracotta undertones.
|
Rose - Avon Shine Burst lipstick |
Rose - cream finish, gorgeous nude pink with cool undertones.
|
Calypso - shimmery finish, warmer pink with silver shimmer that doesn't show up on the lips, so practically a cream finish when applied.

Pros:
- creamy, comfortable
- extra glossy
- hydrating
- delicious smell
- can be applied without a mirror
- affordable
- slim format = precise application
Cons:
- too many pink shades
- breaks off when rolled up too far
- lipstick itself tends to spin in tube, changing the direction of the slanted tip
So yes, I do recommend these, a creamy and comfy lipstick comes handy in any makeup bag.
Do you like creamy lip products or are you partial to matte, longlasting ones?

Two of the lipsticks were PR-samples, the other 3 were purchased by me.
